Sobredos, the company producing the brand Aneto, is a family owned company created in 2001 with the purpose of producing Douro wines, look after its own vineyards and all the production process (harvest, vinification and bottling), with a main focus on the high quality of the wines. In order to achieve these goals, they acquired several mature vineyards in the heart of Douro Valley: in the county of Barrô and Penajóia they grow the white grapes (Semillon, Gouveio, Viosinho, Arinto, Rabigato, Malvasia Fina and Cerceal); the red grapes (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Souzão) come from Sobradais and Malvêdos, county of Castedo do Douro. A modern and functional vinification center was recently built in Penajóia: all its wines are vinificated, bottled and stocked there. Visitors are welcomed, with advance booking. The first harvest to be bottled was 2002, the Aneto Colheita red. Nowadays, it has a beautiful collection of 2 white wines, 4 red wines and a Late Harvest. While giving preference to Portuguese grape varieties, Francisco Montenegro could not resist to make an experiment with a Pinot Noir, and this monovarietal wine is now in its 2nd successful edition. (Note: This brand has already a distributor for Brazil, Australia and South Africa hence Spread the Wine is not looking for business partnerships in these markets.)
